HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tied 3-3, the Blazers put together a memorable fourth inning. In the top of the fourth, VSU scored 13 runs, highlighted by two grand slams, one by BJ White and one by Tyler Homer.
- The Statesmen would then go on to score 13 straight runs between in the fourth and fifth innings to even the score at 16 apiece.
- DSU took the lead on a Jason Popovich double in the sixth and would go on to score two more runs in the frame.
- GSC Player of the Year Zach Shannon would transfer over to the mound from first base in the ninth and get his first save of the season.
NOTABLES
- Delta State set a new GSC Championship record with six home runs in the game.
- Emil Ellis hit two home runs in the game. Coming into the contest, Ellis had just two home runs all season.
