HOW IT HAPPENED
- The University of North Alabama loaded the bases in the top of the first. Logan Carter drew a two-out bases-loaded walk, scoring Davis Elliot for UNA’s first run of the game.
- Mississippi College held the Lions to one run until the top of the fourth when Carter homered to left field putting UNA up 2-0.
- The Lions loaded the bases again in the top of the seventh, and Ben Cooley scored North Alabama’s third run of the game on a sac lineout by Drake Tucker.
- The Choctaws tried to make a comeback in the bottom of the ninth. Will Elliot singled to lead off the inning, and Hunter Sykes followed with a single to second base.  Elliot and Sykes advanced to second and third on a double steal. Hunter Wilson followed then singled to shortstop, scoring Elliot for MC’s first run. Sykes scored MC’s second run of the game on a throwing error by the catcher, but back-to-back popups ended the game.

NOTABLES
- MC’s Hunter Wilson extended his hitting streak to 24 games and on base streak to 28 games—the longest of any Choctaw this season.
- UNA’s Logan Carter recorded his ninth multi-RBI game to tie for second for the team lead.
- Carter also recorded his fifth home run of the season.
- On the mound for UNA, starting pitcher Lane Wallace tied his career high in strikeouts with seven. But the 12 hits Wallace sacrificed are the most he has given up all season.
- Today’s loss marks the fourth consecutive loss for the Choctaws.
- The three runs UNA scored were the fewest scored the Lions have scored against the Choctaws since the 2016 season when UNA defeated MC 3-2 in Florence, Ala.
