GSC announces fourth annual Hall of Fame class
Birmingham, Ala. - The Gulf South Conference is pleased to announce five new inductees to its Hall of Fame Class for 2017, which will be honored on Wednesday, May 31.
The Gulf South Conference, now in its 47th year, will see four former student-athletes and one head coach inducted into this year's
GSC Hall of Fame class.
The Hall of Fame honorees will be officially inducted on Wednesday, May 31, in Pensacola, Fla., at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Hotel. Check back via

Below is a list of the 2017 GSC Hall of Fame Class and just some of their impressive accomplishments. Clicking on an honoree's name will bring you to his or her respective GSC Hall of Fame Spotlight page.
Amy Carroll-Denley, Delta State
Amy Carroll led the Lady Statesmen as a three-year starter to three NCAA Division II National Championships (1989-90, 1992) and is still the only women's basketball student-athlete to have accomplished the feat. She played in 131 games from 1989-92, helping Delta State build a 115-16 record over that span, and ranks third all-time in games played. She cored 836-total points and pulled down 375-career rebounds, while sported a career average of 72-percent from the free throw line. She was selected First Team All-Academic All-America (1991), NCAA All-South Region (1991-92), Delta State Most Outstanding Female Athlete (1992) and earned the 1992 Gulf South Conference Commissioner's Trophy. She was inducted into the Delta State Hall of Fame in 2006.
Radovan Chrz, West Florida
Radovan Chrz was a four-time All-America in singles and doubles play, as well as a four-time All-GSC First Team honoree. He earned 2001 GSC East Division Freshman of the Year honors and was a two-time GSC East Division Player of the Year (2001, 2003). He won the 2000 ITA Super Bowl Singles Title and was a two-time ITA Singles National Champion, helping lead UWF to a 2004 NCAA Championship, its first title in program history. He was named 2001 ITA South Region- and Rookie Player of the Year and was both a GSC Top Eight Selection and the ITA South Region Senior Player of the Year in 2004. He currently works for Mercedes-Benz in his native country of the Czech Republic as the Head of Marketing.
Fred McAfee, Mississippi College
Fred McAfee is the program career leader in rushing yards (4,416), attempts (811) and touchdowns (38). In 1990, he rushed for an MC record 1,583 yards with 17 touchdowns, while also helping guide MC to two Gulf South Conference Championships in both 1988 and 1990. He was an NCAA Division II All-America selection and a Harlon Hill Trophy finalist (1990). McAfee was selected in the sixth round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints and spent 16 seasons in the NFL. He led the Saints in rushing as a rookie and was part of their five NFC Division Titles, including 2009's Super Bowl XLIV Championship. He currently serves as the Director of Player Development with the New Orleans Saints.
Stephanie Pinto, Alabama Huntsville
Stephanie Pinto currently ranks Top 5 all-time in GSC history in sacrifice flies (1st), walks (2nd), HR (3rd), RBI (3rd) and total bases (4th), and is Top 10 all-time in GSC history in doubles (9th). She holds UAH records in at-bats, runs, total bases and RBI. Pinto was named the 2004 GSC Freshman of the Year, earned First Team All-GSC from 2004-06, Second Team All-GSC in 2007 and was selected as First Team All-South Region and NFCA All-America from 2004-06. She was a big part in helping UAH to two-consecutive Gulf South Conference Championship (2006-07) and in making four-straight NCAA South Region Tournament appearances (2004-07). She also garnered honors as GSC 'Top Ten' in both 2005 and 2006, including the 2006 GSC Commissioner's Trophy. She currently serves the Huntsville community as a firefighter, a position she has held since 2011.
Bobby Wallace, North Alabama
Robert Hue 'Bobby' Wallace is the winningest football coach in North Alabama (126) and Gulf South Conference (152) history, with 40-total years in college football, including having won 171-total games in 28 seasons as a collegiate head coach. He has already been inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame (2004), the NCAA Division II Football Hall of Fame (2010) and the University of North Alabama Athletic Hall of Fame (2011) and has four AFCA National Coach of the Year and four GSC Coach of the Year awards. He is tied for the most championships by any coach in NCAA Division II's 39-year history, with three-consecutive NCAA DII National Championships, in 1993, 1994 and 1995, and is the only coach in league history to have won seven-total GSC football championships. Coach Wallace retired this past season, which included leading his team to the NCAA Division II National Championship game.
