Birmingham, Ala.—For the third year in a row, the Gulf South Conference (GSC) has secured a naming rights sponsor for GSC Game of the Week, as Florida's Space Coast has agreed to renew its exclusive sponsorship agreement.
This year's "Florida’s Space Coast GSC Football Game of the Week” package features 10 regular-season contests on ESPN3 and kicks off on Saturday, September 17 when Shorter hosts Florida Tech at 7:00 pm (Eastern). The full Game of the Week schedule will be officially announced on a later date. The renewal agreement also includes the title sponsorship of the 2017 "VisitSpaceCoast.com GSC Basketball Championships," which return to the Pete Hanna Center at Samford University from March 3-4.
“The Gulf South Conference fan base has a high index to our tourism target demographic, and we feel this partnership is a great way for us to spotlight Florida Tech’s location on Florida’s Space Coast,” said Eric Garvey, Executive Director of Space Coast Office of Tourism. “Our close proximity to Orlando’s theme parks, great surf culture and historic downtowns make us an ideal destination for GSC fans.”
League Commissioner Matt Wilson expressed the importance of the renewed agreement to the success of the league’s Game of the Week package. “Florida’s Space Coast Office of Tourism has been a key partner for the Gulf South Conference and we are excited about continuing this relationship that creates more opportunities to showcase our tremendous student-athletes and institutions,” said Wilson.
“Eric Garvey and his staff have fully embraced the marketing and branding opportunities that exist within the GSC Football on ESPN3 package as well as our basketball championships. The GSC is looking forward to our potential new in-game and on-site activations that will enhance this year’s agreement.”
