Lady Statesmen advance to GSC semifinals
CLEVELAND, Miss. – The GSC Player of the Year, Chelsey Rhodes, scored 21 and Delta State junior Mary Carol Davis collected her first career double-double as No. 2 seed Delta State cruised past seventh-seed Christian Brothers, 58-42, Tuesday in the 2015-16 VisitSpaceCoast.com Gulf South Conference quarterfinals.

KEY MOMENTS
Samantha Reeves gave CBU an 11-8 lead with 2:13 to play in the first quarter, but Delta State responded with a 10-0 run. The Lady Statesmen, ranked No. 1 in Division II for scoring defense, held CBU to only two points, 16-2, in the second quarter, helping to put the game out of reach. Delta State’s lead never got below 19 the rest of the game.

th straight GSC Tournament first round game and improved to 26-2 all-time in the opening round.
