ROME, Ga. – Shakierya McClendon scored on Shorter’s first possession of the night and didn’t let up, scoring 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting to lead the Lady Hawks past Alabama Huntsville, 72-59, on Tuesday in the 2015-16 VisitSpaceCoast.com Gulf South Conference quarterfinals.

Shorter opened the second quarter on a 12-1 run to take a 22-14 lead over UAH. Baylee Johnson helped cut into the Shorter lead with back-to-back 3s in the second quarter, but McClendon helped the Lady Hawks to a five-point, 30-25, halftime lead.
