Lee, West Alabama and West Florida Lead GSC All-Sports Standings
Lee, West Alabama and
West Florida each held top spots in the Fall edition of the 2016-17 GSC All-Sports Trophy standings.
For the third consecutive year, UWA wrapped up the fall as the leader in the Men's standings, holding a 1.500 edge over West Florida. The Tigers compiled 21.500 points behind their third straight GSC Men’s Soccer Title, a share of second-place in Football and a fourth-place effort at the Cross Country Championship.
Lee completed the fall atop the Women's Trophy standings for the first time ever, topping West Florida by a total of 26.125 to 24.250. The Flames seek to dethrone UWF which has won 11 straight women's crowns. LU logged a second-place team finish at the GSC Cross Country Championship by just one point, won a share of the GSC Regular Season Soccer Title and advanced to the GSC Volleyball Tournament for the first time ever.
West Alabama and
West Florida shared first-place in the Overall All-Sports Trophy standings with each carrying 43.250 points into the winter.
Lee is third overall (41.250), while
Mississippi College (32.875) and
North Alabama (32.750) complete the Top Five.
