West Florida wins GSC Women's Golf Tournament Crown

Tunica, Miss. - West Florida jumped out to a 19-stroke lead to claim the 2014-15 GSC Women's Golf Title at Tunica National on Tuesday.
 
West Florida won its ninth conference championship with a final round +46, 910. *Lee closed the tournament in second at +65, 929. Shorter (+72, 936) claimed third, followed by; West Georgia (+80, 944), West Alabama (+89, 953), Union (+159, 1,023), *Spring Hill (+232, 1,096) and Christian Brothers (+396, 1,260).
 
West Georgia junior Stephanie Bennett earned top individualist medalist honors, firing a +5, 221 for the tournament. Bennett shot a final round of -1, 71. West Alabama sophomore Savannah Payne (+9, 225) came in second place finishing just four strokes behind Bennett. West Florida's Lauren Lamm (+11, 227) and Daisy-May Kenny (+12, 228) finished third and fourth, respectively. UWF Sophomore Lily Kent and freshman Maria Torres, from West Georgia, both rounded out the Top 5 with a final round round, +13, 229.

The field for the NCAA Division II Tournament will be announced via press release on Monday, April 27 at 3 p.m. (ET).
