West Florida claims GSC Men's Golf Tournament Title

Tunica, Miss. - West Florida started the final round in second, but roared back to claim the 2014-15 GSC Tournament Championship at Tunica National on Tuesday.
*Lee finished with a tournament-best (+2, 866), but is currently in the NCAA Division II reclassification process and was uneligible for the trophy. West Florida (+12, 876) won its 13th title, including third-consecutive. North Alabama (+18, 882) took third place, five strokes behind West Florida. Delta State finished fourth (+22, 886), followed by; Valdosta State and West Georgia, both having shot +24, 888, Christian Brothers (+61, 925), West Alabama (+71, 935), Shorter (+93, 957), Union (+107, 971) and *Mississippi College (+113, 977).
West Florida sophomore Esteban Castro earned top individual medalist honors (-1, 215). Castro was -4, 68 in the final round. North Alabama junior Paul McClure finished second, just two strokes behind Castro at +1, 217. McClure also had an impressive Final Round, firing a -3, 69. West Florida senior Juan Miguel Heredia (+2, 218), Valdosta State's Chris Rogers (+4, 220) and Delta State junior Reed Lindsey (+5, 221) rounded out the All-Tournament Team. Three Lee players garnered top finishes as well in: junior Peyton Sliger (-1, 215), sophomore Shea Sylvester (+1, 217) and junior Taylor Davis (+1, 217). Sliger was the top-finishing student-athlete.
The NCAA Division II Tournament field will be announced in a press release on Friday, April 24 at 4 p.m. (ET).
