West Alabama Moves on to Championship Saturday
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – West Alabama’s strong defense and concise shooting helped them advance to the 2015 VisitSpaceCoast.Com GSC Tournament Final at the Pete Hanna Center by defeating West Georgia 91-85.

KEY MOMENT
UWA shot 27-for-50 (54%) from the field and corralled 39 rebounds to UWG’s 25. UWA also swatted six blocks. UWG was able to get as close as three points to get back into it late, but UWA’s 31-for-37 (83%) free throw shooting helped seal the win.
QUOTABLE
"We did a good job with scoring and free throw shooting was the difference in the ballgame" West Alabama Head Coach Allen Sharpe said. "When you play teams like that, there’s going to be some storms. We found a way to get through it and got back to playing the way that we wanted to play.”
NOTABLE
UWA will advance to its first finals appearance for the first time since 1994 and their fourth overall. UWA will seek to win its first championship in 33 years.
