Four GSC Football teams advance to NCAA Super Region 2 Tournament
Indianapolis, Ind. - Delta State, North Alabama, Valdosta State and West Georgia all were named to the regional tournament field of the NCAA Football Playoffs on Sunday.
The 2014 Co-GSC Champions, Delta State and North Alabama, both 9-1, rang in at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively. No. 5 Valdosta State (8-2) and No. 6 West Georgia (9-2) rounded out the field of playoff-bound GSC squads.
First round will take place on Saturday, Nov. 22. UNA and VSU will play for the right to take on No. 1 Lenoir-Rhyne, while UWG and No. 3 Tuskegee will compete to take on DSU, who was awarded a first-round bye.
Eight first-round games will be conducted on the campus of one of the competing institutions. In addition, two teams per super regional have earned first-round byes. The first-round winners will all advance to face a bye team in their super regional in the second round on the campus of one of the competing institutions.
Second-round winners will meet in the quarterfinals at various campus sites. Quarterfinal winners will advance to play in the semifinals on the campus of one of the competing institutions.
Six teams selected per super regional make up the field of 24 teams.
