Alabama Huntsville wins third-straight men's GSC Championship

Birmingham, Ala. — The University of Alabama Huntsville won the Gulf South Conference Men’s Cross Country Championships at Veteran’s Park in Hoover, Ala., on Saturday.
 
Alabama Huntsville (29 points) had four runners finish in the Top 10, while it posted a total time of 2:11:34.79. Last season’s Top Individual Medalist, Blaise Binns of UAH, did it again, finishing with a time of 25:33.25. Claiming Freshman of the Year honors was West Florida’s Nick Merrett, who finished 14th.
 
West Florida finished second with a total time of 2:12:49.73 (41 points), followed by, West Alabama (84 points; 2:15:46.99), Valdosta State (95 points; 2:17:19.32), Christian Brothers (141 points; 2:21:31.12), West Georgia (170 points; 2:25:20.48) and North Alabama (185 points; 2:26:41.17).
