West Florida Wins Sixth GSC Women's Golf Crown

Calera, ALWest Florida added another award to its trophy case this spring, capturing the 2012 Gulf South Conference Women’s Golf Tournament Championship at Timberline Golf Club in Calera, Alabama.

UWF extended its 17-stroke edge in First Round to 28 strokes by scoring a Tournament-best 324 in the today’s final 18 holes. The Argonauts finished with a +89, 657, followed by second-place West Georgia (685) and third-place Christian Brothers (746). The Title upped UWF’s all-time Women’s Golf total to six in the eight-year history of the event.

West Florida’s Camila Sevillano
held on to her First Round lead, collecting Individual Medalist honors. Sevillano shot a combined +16, 158 behind a Final Round 78. West Georgia’s Jerrah Baker finished second (+19, 161) behind a Tournament-high round of 76 on Tuesday. Completing the five-member All-Tournament Team were UWF standouts Aimee Paterson (third-place, +23, 165) and Jenny Lines and Agustina Cocha who tied for fourth (+25, 167).
